100 Year Celebration of the Hovawart

Did you know?  2022 is a very special year for the Hovawart. This year, Hovawart enthusiasts across the world commemorate a century of organized breeding of this special breed.

Note: The AHC's fall event is on hold for the time being. Check back soon for updates.

Welcome to the American Hovawart Club. We hope you enjoy your visit and find plenty of useful information about the Hovawart, our Hovies' achievements, our club's activities, and perhaps even start the search for the newest four footed member of your family.

Buyers, Breeders, Beware!!
AHC has discovered that there are at least 2 different kennels purposely breeding Hovawart/Golden crosses for sales. To the AHC's knowledge, one is located in upstate New York and the other is in LA, California. The AHC is appalled at this behavior and considers it detrimental to the rare Hovawart breed. Please vet your buyers/sellers carefully, and make sure that your contracts include breeding limitations.
